DD2 @ IKC
Last weekend I raced at Ipswich Kart Club in the DD2 class. It was my first time back in the kart after a few months so it took a little while to get used to it. Qualifying wasn't the best but as the day went on I was getting faster. The rain came just before our Pre-final and showed no signs of letting up. As my first time driving a DD2 in the rain in the Pre-final it took me a few laps to get going, but eventually I was on the pace finishing 3rd. In the final it was still raining and the sun had set. I made it into 2nd on the start but for the first few laps my visor was fogged up on the inside (it took me a while to realise, just thought it was the rain...). After a mistake from 1st place I caught up, but as I was pushing harder to make up the lost time, I made a mistake and dropped back. I was slowly reeling him back in when he got a problem and I claimed 1st place with 2 laps to go. After a very eventful weekend I came out in 1st.
